Royal Adelaide Show - 9 Sept 2005

9th Sept, I went to the Royal Adelaide Show, this huge carnival in Wayville, Adelaide.
Wonderfully crowded and bustling, it was rare to see so many people in a single place! (for Adelaide, that is). There were a plethora of amazing rides, such as viking ship, the Ferris Wheel, and this crazy bungee contraption that swung people from the ground right up to 76m in 2 seconds in a small capsule connected to two bungee cords connected to two gigantic towers. They dipped back down almost immediately, and would be swung up again at fasinatingly high velocities - fasinating that they would be able to emerge unscathed and in one piece after the ride!
The Ferris Wheel had a breath-taking scenic view of the city at it's summit, which was about 60m above ground level. I sat the ride in the evening, so the millions of tiny specks of city lights in the distance was simply, pure magic.
Played millions of games in hope of winning those colourful huge soft toys dangling around the game stalls! The soft toys really entice you to play games such as shooting balls through hoops, squirting water at targets, even though the odds are against you and it is terribly difficult to win.
Haha, however! Tiffany managed to win a plush and delightfully adorable orange dragon soft toy! Think it's from Neopets, but can't remember it's name.
And somehow, I kept trying and trying and trying and ...(zzzzZZZ), but to no avail!! Sad to say, I left empty-giant-soft-toy-handed from the carnival.
Heehee, was on the lookout for clowns, but didn't see any. I sometimes wonder if clowns are remotely related to Rudolf. And nope, that guy in the photo is not a clown, but thanks for even thinking about it.

The showbags arena was incredibly large, with various stalls parading their Mars, Snickers (heh heh heh), Timeout, Cadbury, Crunchie chocolates and Willy Wonka candy and other jellys and sweets, selling them in cheap, convenient packages, together with many other interesting novelty items like the Willy Wonka furry hat, Ninja outfits, Skate-Scooters and more! Couldn't buy anything though, thanks to my un-thrifty spending on the games in a pathetic attempt to grab those tempting soft toys!
Had a great time at the Show!
